In order to regulate advertising activities, the territorial administration performs the following functions:
- ensures the implementation of a unified state policy in the field of advertising market regulation;
- monitors compliance with advertising legislation in accordance with the procedure established by law;
- takes measures to prevent unfair competition and the appearance of incorrect advertising in the advertising sector;
- interacts with state bodies of foreign States and international organizations in the field of advertising;
- receives free copies of periodicals, books, documentaries for television and radio programs, production, distribution and placement of advertising products;
- provides explanations on the application of legislation on advertising;
- gives opinions on the compliance of advertising projects (video, audio, and other materials) with the legislation on advertising;
- requests from the advertiser, advertising producer and distributor the necessary documents, explanations and other information in case of violations of the advertising legislation;
- sends an order to the advertiser, advertising producer and distributor to protect the rights of consumers and eliminate shortcomings in connection with the violation of advertising legislation;
- conducts seminars, exhibitions, conferences, as well as many events, presentations and promotional events in Uzbekistan in the field of marketing and advertising;
- conducts a unified policy of outdoor advertising placement;
- participates in drawing up lists of land plots, buildings and structures of state ownership provided for the construction of outdoor advertising objects;
- participates in the definition of "ad-free zones"in the locations of state authorities and administrative bodies, cultural, historical and religious sites;
- maintains close relations with public associations, mass media, business representatives and scientific institutions in the regulation of the advertising market;
- takes measures to support the importance of public control in the field of advertising market regulation.
